Star Battle Rules
Star Battle is a pure logic puzzle. You do not need guessing. Every puzzle can be solved by using row, column, region, and non-touching rules.
Each row needs stars
Every row must contain the required number of stars. In classic puzzles, this is often one or two stars per row.
Each column needs stars
Every column must also contain the same required number of stars.
Each region needs stars
Each colored region must contain the required number of stars, just like rows and columns.
Stars cannot touch
Stars may not touch horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. This is the key rule for solving.
Use X marks
Mark cells that cannot contain a star. Eliminating impossible cells is often the fastest way forward.
Solve by logic
Look for forced placements, limited spaces, and blocked cells. A good puzzle never needs random guessing.
